Mark Schultz

Olympic, World, NCAA Champion, Speaker, Author, Actor, Producer, Coach, Gymnast, Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt.

Mark Schultz is ranked #1 college wrestler of the 1980’s in the book “The Golden Era of Wrestling: 1980’s”. Some consider Mark the greatest pure athlete to wrestle. Oklahoma Head Wrestling Coach Stan Abel said “The Schultz brothers were spectacular wrestlers and Mark Schultz especially. People have their favorites but I’ve watched them all without prejudice and in my mind’s eye Mark is the greatest college wrestler I’ve ever seen and he’ll probably go down as one of the greatest Olympians”.

16-time National Champion Wayne Baughman calls Mark “One of the greatest, if not the greatest, all around athletes that has ever participated in the sport of wrestling. As wrestling machines go, his design is close to perfect. His combination of quickness, balance and power is unexcelled.”

After rising to the pinnacle of the wrestling world with 3 NCAA, 4 US Open, 2 World, and Olympic gold medals, Mark’s world crashed after his brother Dave was murdered by the man who destroyed Mark’s Olympic wrestling career. But Mark came back and went out a winner in the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC IX) by TKO in 12 minutes in a no-holds-barred cage fight in Detroit’s Cobo Arena. Then earned his Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Pedro Sauer. Mark is ranked the greatest wrestler to win the UFC (bloodyelbow.com). The Schultz brothers are Distinguished Members of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame, the California Wrestling Hall of Fame, and the San Mateo Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame.

Speaking engagements

As an inspirational and motivational speaker, Mark is unique. He mixes hard fought life lessons with humor and coaches people on how to win in life and in business against all opponents, barriers, and hardships.

“If you’re going to hire a speaker, Mark Schultz is your guy! He hit it out of the park for our team. Compelling story of dedication, success, tragedy, rising from the ashes and all laced with humor. Mark is a huge presence and commands his audience.”
-Andy Chick, Director of Marketing at Independent Electric Supply

“Mark is a great speaker. His stories about overcoming obstacles in life are inspiring. He has studied Olympic level performance optimization for many years.”
-Dr. Peter Rogers, Author of “Straight A at Stanford and on to Harvard: How to Learn Faster and Think Better”

“We heard nothing but great things from all the guests during and after the event. Mark’s speech really stole the show. All eyes were on him, and he energized the room for the entire second half of the day (and night). He connected well with our audience, and some attendees I spoke with at the post-event drinks were drawing comparisons between the lessons he taught and how we could apply them in our professional and personal lives. I’ve seen a few videos of Mark speaking on Youtube, but this was on a whole different level. We thank him so much for making it to Asia and sharing his incredible story with us.”
-Michael Drake, Co-Chair of FIX Trading Community’s Asia Pacific Education and Marketing Subcommittee, Asia Chair of Global Membership Services, Head of Business Development – Asia, Symphony Communication Services.
